“Angry Alan” at Studio Seaview
3.5 out of 5 stars
John Krasinski delivers a bravura performance in “Angry Alan,” Penelope Skinner’s look down the rabbit hole of white-male rage and the currents that feed it. The unseen Alan is the creator of an online platform – and Krasinski plays a divorced father under his influence. But the play fails to fully deliver, especially because what starts as a one-person show jarringly shifts into a two-person one and the plot becomes muddled. Still, Krasinski handles his part extraordinarily well – he’s affable and guileless, until a dark side emerges. One might argue he’s too genial in the role, but that’s perhaps the point. — Charles Passy
