Billy Crystal’s “860” at the Imperial Theatre

3.5 out of 5 stars

In “860,” Billy Crystal walks that fine line between sentiment and sentimentality. And he often crosses it, though perhaps understandably so. This is the iconic funnyman’s story of losing his beloved California home during a 2025 wildfire. But by extension, it becomes a story of family and building a life – Crystal traces his rise to fame from his standup days to today. The narrative goes a bit all over the place – cue the Muhammad Ali and Mickey Mantle stories – but so be it. True Crystal fans will likely be more than happy to go along for the ride.
