Having survived a stroke at age 30, Cat Cohen now makes light of her medical story with a darkly humorous one-woman show aptly titled “Broad Strokes.” Or as she declares, “I used to be a hypochondriac, now I’m a genius.” She fills the evening with plucky songs, such as “Complete Control” and “Live In Fear,” cowritten with David Dabbon. But it’s her rapid-fire stand-up comedy – both sparkly and macabre -- that’s the true highlight. Derek McLane’s glam gothic scenic design mirrors the spirit of the show. — Justin McCallum
