“Lost in Del Valle” at Soho Playhouse

4.5 out of 5 stars

Ned Van Zandt has a story to tell. Make that several stories. How he visited Sid Vicious and Nancy Spungen at the Chelsea Hotel – just hours before Sid murdered Nancy. How his acting career included everything from stints in soap operas to a failed audition for “Happy Days.” And most critical, how a drug habit led to his arrest and imprisonment in Texas. It’s all revealed in “Lost in Del Valle,” his brilliantly engaging performance piece that’s like a fever-dream confessional. And it’s not quite a solo show: Guitarist Mike Moore adds some pointed accompaniment. — Charles Passy
