It’s hard to imagine a drama that speaks more to our AI-driven world than “Disruption.” Playwright Andrew Stein examines how this technology can reshape our understanding of human behavior – and thus prompt changes in how we interact – through the prism of three couples at key points in their marriages. Naturally, there’s a tech entrepreneur, cunningly played by John David Washington, who’s behind it all. The play suffers when its characters become too archetypal – think a slightly over-the-top sci-fi flick – but it’s nevertheless an engaging and harrowing ride.
