“Ginger Twinsies” at the Orpheum Theatre

3 out of 5 stars

Millennial nostalgia finds a stage in “Ginger Twinsies,’ a send up of the 1998 Lindsay Lohan film, “The Parent Trap.” The play starts at summer camp and never lets up on the campiness as main characters Annie and Hallie, played by the less-than-identical but equally hilarious Russell Daniels and Aneesa Folds (respectively), realize they’re long-lost siblings. It’s a fun romp through the movie’s plot (with many detours), as writer/director Kevin Zak mixes brash, stupid and referential humor. Still, “Twinsies” is let down by uneven pacing, overlong bits, stepped-on lines, and some weak supporting performances. — Justin McCallum
