“Lord Nil” at Stage 42
0.5 out of 5 stars
I would call “Lord Nil: 7 Deadly Sins” a cheesy affair, but that might be an insult to all those hard-working Wisconsin dairy farmers. In truth, this is beyond cheesy, since cheesy might imply something vaguely fun or amusing. Instead, what we have is a pointlessly flashy escape artist mining a bad concept – he tries to “escape” his way through the septet of sins. And it comes replete with a dominatrix character serving as guide, a rock guitarist strumming mindlessly along and one too many dancers gyrating in a stupidly sexed-up way. In short, an embarrassment of an entertainment. — Charles Passy
