Casting aside his brooding roles as Javert or the Phantom, Norm Lewis is having a jovial time during his residency at 54 Below. He opens with a set of lively, dance-focused numbers, oozing charisma as he takes audience members for a whirl through some Marvin Gaye and "I Could Have Danced All Night." Later, his magnificent crooning voice is undeniable when he’s reprising songs from his career as well as pop hits of the 70s and 80s. But the charm can border on cheese with certain numbers feeling more akin to cruise-show fare than Broadway's best from the Tony nominee. — Justin McCallum
