“Paranormal Activity” at the August Wilson Theatre

3.5 out of 5 stars

If you like a good scare, you’ll like “Paranormal Activity,” the theatrical extension of the cinematic horror franchise. The stage version offers an entirely new story – one involving an American couple who move to London, only to find that whatever haunted the wife back home has followed her. The story delivers, with a twist you won’t see coming, and the special effects are decent. Still, even with a solid cast, there’s nothing here that makes this as stunningly theatrical and engrossing as “The Lost Boys,” a horror story of a different sort but one that truly earns its Broadway cred.
