With its lampooning and revering of golden-age musicals, “Schmigadoon!,” based on Cinco Paul and Ken Daurio’s Apple TV series, is better realized on Broadway than television. Fans of the streamer can rejoice since the theatrical version hits the same beats, satirizing “Carousel,” “Oklahoma,” etc. -- perhaps to its detriment since there are almost zero changes in the transition from screen to stage. But the leads and glorious ensemble improve upon the series with their tenacity and talent. If anything, “Schmigadoon!” squanders its many powerhouses (McKenzie Kurtz, Isabelle McCalla, Alex Brightman, Ana Gasteyer) since everyone gets only a song or two. — Justin McCallum
