What a joy it is to experience the Public Theater’s Shakespeare in the Park series once again, especially at the newly renovated Delacorte Theater. And this year’s sole offering -- the screwball comedy that is “Twelfth Night” (alas, closing today) -- speaks fully to what makes the tradition so great. It features plenty of big-name stars -- Sandra Oh! Lupita Nyong’o! Peter Dinklage! Jesse Tyler Ferguson! -- who do the Bard proud, but the production has enough contemporary tweaks to appeal to modern-day audiences. Yes, it can be over the top at times, but It’s still the summer reprieve we all could use. — Charles Passy
